Social Media: "The Modern Prosecutor"

Social Media: The Modern Prosecutor As I entered the courtroom that was now fully packed, I sat pensively at the only remaining seat, careful not to cause a disruption and just at vantage point, where I could not miss to catch a glimpse of the meticulously dressed lawyers from the defense side and the prosecution team, as they firmly but respectfully made their submissions. It was my first time in court, a young boy in primary school with great dreams, here to satisfy my curiosity and get a feeling of how my future life would look like, my childhood dream had been to practice law and become the greatest barrister ever, the one and only one the world would have ( Never mind, several years later, that never happened and I am currently in a totally different field). Back to the courtroom, and my attention now drawn to the prosecution team led by middle aged man who spoke slowly, but with lots of authority and each time he spoke, he kept on referring to the words " My Lord, m...

Betting, the Cancerous Dream - Idea Destroyer in Kenya!

Place a bet? Is it worth? Who doesn't want to drive posh cars, live in the leafy suburbs of the city? forget about rent and become a landlord? Who doesn't want a bank account with a six figure numerical? Hey, we all dream to have and enjoy the goodness of life, stress free life, no major hustles, just some good life! Kenya has in the past 1-2 years miraculously brought this dream into a reality to our living room and pockets. Yes, from the television in our living and the phones in our pockets, Just invest as little as 50/= Kenyan shillings for a chance to win millions. Again 50/= is a negligible amount for one to sacrifice and win millions, its worth the sacrifice and we have few cases to attest to this. The betting craze has hit the country with a bang! and every entrepreneur and multinational betting companies are setting up betting centers in the country. The most popular being Sportpesa that first captured the Kenyan market with a storm and has grown to become ...

It is one of the greatest channels of self expression, exaltation and yes self lie. On social media, it's My space My Rules, if you can't play by them, you are free to quit or be forced out by receiving a block! Meaning, never again sh...

At My Pace, At My Time...

At My Pace, At My Time! No sweetheart, am never ever going to settle for anything less, I know my worth and am not ready to settle down with someone just because you think am becoming of age and end up spending the rest of my life being miserable. That is the reply I always give to one my best friend who always nags me to get a man and l start dating.     She is just barely twenty four years old and you can be surprised how she is so sure that by the time she will be my age, she will be married and almost popping out her first born. I always shake my head, if only she knew how cruel love is, it is not that simple as she tends to think. You see, am twenty seven years old, in four months’ time, I will be turning twenty eight years old. The African custom has always dictated that once a lady hits the age of twenty five, she should be gearing up for marriage. Dare you get to your thirties and you still single, the looks you get when you go for the get togethe...

Fellow Men, Light-skin ain't it all!

Marrying the right person is the perfect gift of life On this day, I am having a chat with some  friends most of them being male, and we are all talking about marriage, (Never mind the group consisted of single young adults). So everyone was so jovial and describing the type of lady they wanted to wife. The outcome of the discussions made me pen this article. Each of them deemed beauty and in fact "Light-skin" as priority 1 for the lady they wanted to marry. Reason? they would give them cute kids and be presentable to the world. All a long, I kept quiet wondering why on earth would one want to keep a light-skin for the sole purpose of cute kids (What if the kids are cute, 'yes' but inherit mom's bad character?)Why please the world with a "Trophy Wife" while you get no peace in the house? below is what I told them. Most pretty ladies, know that they are pretty, they know that all men will be behind their backs, so if you dating one, she will...

Shed A Little tear, SMILE and say "IT'S WELL"

Its All right to she a tear! Yes, shed a little tear, smile and tell yourself, you know what? " I am not gonna cry anymore, the tears ain't worth it" I am saying, put on some positive attitude to all situations, Bessie said to me sometime back when I paid her a visit. You see I was just from a break up and who better to share with than Bessie? I recently introduced her here when I spoke of Relax, God's Timing is the Best ,  I told you of how Bessie has this charming talent coupled with lots of wit that would within a twinkle of an eye turn sorrow into joy and pain into hope. So I give Bessie a call and say "Hey Bessie, guess what?" your ninja is single and it hurts.so much, to which she replied "That calls for some chapati at my place and some pop corns" Now, imagine a situation whereby, you broken up with your better half aka bae whom you loved so much and you call that one person you expect to give you a shoulder to lean on, instead of...

Relax, God's Timing is the Best!

In His Time, He makes Every Second Worth the wait!! One late evening I am walking with my best of friends Bessie, she had asked me to accompany her to a shopping mall and since she was Bessie I couldn't object. You see Bessie is this type of a lady, who is very mature for her age, very charming, quick at brightening the mood of the room, she is just tops, very updated with current affairs, be it football, politics, social media trends etc., but again a very staunch christian with good understanding of the bible. That is Bessie for you, one person you will always want by your side. On this evening we are walking to the mall, discussing a range of topics from Leicester winning the English Premier League, Arsenal's next season promises, Kobe Bryant's retirement, to the the demise of Papa Wemba, Prince, Chyna and Kenya's former first lady Mama Lucy Kibaki. That is why you would want Bassie for a best of friends, always charming, quick to integrate in conversations, ...

If she's not contented with your life, don't say 'I do'

The goodness of life comes in due time we all need patience and a clear hustle Path way! If you ask any man or woman, what would be the key focus point before you decided to settled down with them? They would obviously list down, Faithfulness, trust and love as the key virtues to look for. They all right, we all seek faithfulness, love and trust in a relationship and later on marriage, no one would love to settle down with a partner who is not trustworthy, who does not love them or who isn't faithful. I am not a marriage expert, not even married, I shouldn't even be writing about this, because everyone will ask, yes tell us "What experience do you have in marriage to lecture us on the same?" True to the concern, I got no experience and I shouldn't be writing on this topic. So it may please you to just treat my views as just opinions, yes opinions that shouldn't be taken seriously. But lets have an exception of anyone, with curiosity on what a bachelor...

That Break-up may just be a Sigh of Relief

Remember Life still goes on even after the Break up! We all got stories to tell about that one relationship that you banked on that didn’t turn out the way you had expected. That one relationship that made you feel as the luckiest being ever on Earth, from the lovey - lovey night chat texts, the chocolate gifts, the incredible love cards, the cuddles, kisses, the evening walks, valentine celebrations etc., we have all been there, experienced them and suffered the tragedy of still losing that one person who made you feel like the only person on Earth. There is no denying it, if you have never been in this situation either in your teens or young adulthood, then you missed out on what love really meant. The power of love was so strong to the extent of disobeying parents, sneaking out of the house at night, just to be with them. I mean this feeling was great, life was sweat, we owned the world, we had the world against us, and we were ready to fight the world together and conq...

Finding Tina: Season 1 Episode 3

Finding Tina: Failed Mission Click on Love Behind the curtains then Finding Tina: Season 1 Episode 1  and Finding Tina: Season 1 Episode 2 to read through the previous happenings before embarking on this one. At the back of the car no one spoke, I guess we all felt disappointed and wasted but in my heart in knew everyone else was silently blaming me. To my comfort, I told myself that if anyone tried to bring up the topic of the failed mission, I would stand firm and ask them whether I forced anyone down here. Thank God no one did, so we had a smooth way back till I heard Marvin ask whether anyone was of the idea of spending our night in Kisii town before we embarked on our journey the following day. Even before I gave my response, Kevin silently replied saying that would be a great idea, I was forced to also agree to the same albeit reluctantly. Look, it’s not like I love night travels, in fact I hate them,  sleeping in Kisii meant extra expenses on my side, s...
