Is it time You Audited your Friends?

The Path to success is Open for all.
Are you ready to sacrifice?
Are you willing to let go
for future good?
"...No offense but try changing your friends" We can't be speaking of years without progress in your life"  Years of comfort, Years of celebrating all your friend's successes in life and you are just there, their best friend, the cool gent/lady who is good to be with. How about saying  to yourself "I want to try and have different people in my inner circle of friends? "I want to try and associate myself with people who seem to have a positive impact in life?

I once realized that my life was stagnant, all my friends were also stagnant, either they were comfortable with the life they led or they had no vision in life.

So I looked at my past, looked at the people I allowed into my life, looked at how much freedom I gave them to make decisions over my life, looked at the decisions I had made, looked at how much the decisions were not my own but theirs and looked at the impact the decisions had in my life, compared to the impact had I made the decisions alone, then I apologized to myself "that was a mistake." I was in a comfort zone, a zone that wasted a lot of my precious time.

Then I asked myself this Key questions? Who are my friends? Who are the key people in my life? Who are those people whom I gave so much freedom to decide what makes me happy, what is best for me, what is right and what is wrong for me? Who are those people whom I gave so much freedom? Who are they? What positive impact has my relationship with them brought to my life?Ever asked your self this questions? Please do, as you do it, decide to think through and be honest with yourself. The answers should be key to your further association with them.

Then I realized one important virtue, a virtue that I decided to live by "Honesty" being true to myself. Being honest to my dreams. I knew for sure that, to be great in life, to lead a comfortable life, I needed to make serious  self sacrifices, serious self denials. Shaking off people who no longer added value to my self, people who did not support my dream, people who were comfortable with what they had, the life they led. Shaking off people who had the "ME" attitude, so long as "ME" is comfortable "I don't care about the rest."

I knew, I had to go further miles and sacrifice more, shake off even those who mattered most. Why? They are the core people who influenced the kind of life I led, if my life was stagnant, then the crew was the wrong crew, I needed a crew that would go deep and challenge me, a crew that would look at my vision and say "I believe you can achieve that", "I also have this vision which I am working on" , and I could say "Yes bro/siz, you go for it but use this strategy it my work better for you." People who were ready for us to encourage one another, people who had discovered their purpose and who were ready to go for it. People who could sacrifice now, for a future good!

So I said to myself, going forward, I needed to walk away from a group of people, and not let them be part of my life. People who were out to have fun, to them merry, drink tour is their key objective in life without first investing. People who have refused to mature and decide to plan out their lives. People who are easily swayed away from their purpose. People who have the "get-rich-quick" attitude through whatever means, people who prioritize material show off.

Just why is that you never make progress in life as some of your age mates? Fate? Probably, I agree. But have you ever thought for a second that the people around you could be the biggest barrier to your success? When was the last time they celebrated your achievement? When was the last time they told you, we believe if you do this you will be successful? Okay, now look at it from this point of view, when was the last time they called you over to go out and have fun? Drink and merry? Probably yesterday. Are this people for your success in life or for your short term merry? Because they are in a comfort zone which is best for them? Is the comfort zone your portion? Are they the right people for you?

Again I prayed and asked the heavens to let people who are of my type to cross my path. I prayed and said I don't want to discriminate, I just want what is best for me, if people are not best for me, they are not my type let the heavens guide them to their crew. As for me, I pray for connection to right people. Once again I prayed and said "God give me the spirit of perseverance, hard work and satisfaction of the little I have", "God let me not desire so much before the appointed time for me to posses and enjoy them", "Lord, let me live righteous and let people of my caliber find the way to my door step"

So I found out that, successful people, had a lot of sacrifices to make before the world came to know them, I found out that successful people made right decisions and kept a group of right friends and dated and married to right spouses who shared their dreams, who had the same vision, who were ready to sacrifice and support them for a future good.

Is it time you changed the cycle of your friends? Honestly the choice is yours. Blessings!

THE THOMAS SANKARA STORY - AFRICA'S CHE GUEVARA

In the early hours of a night in 1987, one of Africa’s youngest leaders, President Thomas Sankara, was murdered and quietly and quickly buried in a shallow grave. He was only 37 years old.  But first who is Thomas Sankara?  Born Thomas Isidore Noël Sankara on 21 December 1949 in Yako French Upper Volta. He was the third of ten children to Joseph and Marguerite Sankara.  In his teens, the bright Sankara an excellent student in mathematics and French defied his parents' wish to become a catholic priest and opted for the military that was very popular at the time.  So, at age 17, he took the military entrance exams, passed, and joined the Kadiogo military academy. He met Adama Touré, the academy's director who taught history and geography and was known for having progressive ideas. Adama Toure invited a few of his brightest and more political students, among them Sankara, to join informal discussions about imperialism, neocolonialism, socialism, and communism, the Sovie...

Her So Far Away!

In Her Own World Life has always been a journey, a journey with lots and lots of challenges. A journey with both success stories and failure. A journey for the strong and the weak where time and chance happens to both but only the smart ones sail through. Look, on this journey of life, in my daily hustles and bustles, I meet lots of people, people who have had positive and negative impact in my life, in equal measures. And NO, my story is not on that line. My story is on "HER." Look, on this day I am walking out of my place of work and I spot  HER. You see, men can point out pointees amidst the crowd. True story; a pointee is a pointee if only she behaves like a pointee... so here I am stranded looking at this pointee, and yes, magic happens I get a smile. True to my male genes, by a split of a second I had her phone number, I had her name. Bingooooo!! I just scored. Couple of days later, thanks to WhatsApp, we were best friends, just like that, that's how it...
