THE wonderful Kenyan Innovations !

Why do we have to read and be taught about Europe Innovations and models of operations and nothing is documented to that magnitude from the Kenyan environment? For instance, why do I need to read more about Tesla, Facebook, Amazon, Alibaba, Uber, Airbnb, etc., and less of Mpesa, Roy Allela’s Smart Gloves, Richard Turere’s Lion Lights, and The i-Cut app by Kenyan Highschoolers? Take the example of Tesla, the world believes that they are the innovators of solar tiles. While in truth, Kenyan sibling duo, Charity Wanjiku, and Tony Nyaga of Strauss energy birthed their Solar Tiles Invention in the late 1990s after Kenyans experienced a 16-hour power blackout. Their production began in 2013 for obvious reasons such as zero commitment from govt to support start-up ideas. Strauss Energy's Solar Tiles A decade later in October 2016, Elon Musk announced his solar tiles. However, today the world hears less of Charity and Tony's solar tiles but more of the ones by Elon Musk. - I just don...

THE MICHAELHOUSE SCHOOL

THE MICHAELHOUSE:   Quis ut Deus translates to 'Who like God?' is the school motto. This motto is derived from the name of the school whose origin stems from the Hebrew Mikha'el which translates to the same. "Boys today, men of principles tomorrow"  I n 1896 in the Balgowan valley in the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa James Cameron Todd, an Anglican canon shared a vision for a school. He wrote: "A man's tone, moral and spiritual, as well as intellectual, is largely determined for life by his school." And so he founded the school! This is a school famed for its academic, sporting, cultural, spiritual, environmental, character and leadership programmes. A feeling of the School Michaelhouse believes that going to senior school is as much about finding one’s niche in life as having the freedom and encouragement to explore it and to become the best one can be.   A walk through their avenues of trees, over  playing fields and enter into th...
