GEMS CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL: When Hillcrest International School was sold, many did not know that the owners of Gems Cambridge School are the ones who acquired the property.

Joining the Kenyan market in 2012, Gems Cambridge International school, that has a student population of approximately 200, settled in a property in Karen, Nairobi Kenya, that was specifically designed by a private developer to match other Gems schools in Dubai.
With the acquisition of Hillcrest International Schools, its believed that the institution is in the process of moving all its students to Hillcrest whose property they now own, to cut down the cost of annual rent of 200M.
This therefore is to say, for operations, facilities, school fee etc., refer to the Hillcrest review.
However, GEMS, like other international schools in Kenya offered coeducational day & boarding facilities , that provided the British curriculum for students from foundation stage to year 13, with an age range of early years to 18 years.

School division:
• The Little GEMS International: For 6 months to 3 year old children with classes that run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with an option to classes for 3 days a week or full time basis of 5 days a week.
• Primary: For year 1 to year 9
• Secondary: For year 10 and 11, the students study for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination in a range of subjects including English, Maths and IT. In addition to these, they may also follow Level 2 skills based BTEC courses in a range of subjects
• A-level: For year 12 and 13 students have the opportunity to follow the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) / A-level courses in a range of subjects or study for Level 3 BTEC qualifications. Here students are given an opportunity to choose their subjects either as preparation for higher education or the job market.
