THE iPROMISE SCHOOL

THE iPROMISE SCHOOL - An initiative that I so love! I am doing a review of this school because I find it very unique and as a parent you are going to love it

iPromise school, is one you would want your kid who struggles academically to attend. It focuses on kids with difficulties in reading, mathematics and other essential academic areas.

The school in based in Akron, Ohio
Basketball legend, LeBron James opened this school with an idea to have it dedicated to those students who are already falling behind and in danger of falling through the cracks.

All the students attending the school are under-performing in reading, mathematics and other essential academic areas. The curriculum is STEM-based and will educate the kids through hands-on approach.
Knowing LeBron James here is some great facts about the School.

1. Every kid at the school gets a free bicycle and helmet, because LeBron says his own childhood bike helped him get out of dangerous neighborhoods and explore his city as a kid.
2. Students receive free breakfast, lunch, and snacks throughout their school day. They also get free uniforms.
3. If a student's family is struggling to put food on the table, the school has its own food bank for them to use.
4. LeBron has guaranteed that every single student who graduates from his school will receive free college tuition at the University of Akron.
5. The walls of the school are lined with the Lebron James's former game shoes.
6. The school also offers a special program for parents that will allow earning a GEDs and help them go on with their education.
7.  Has a high-tech media lab that mirrors a television studio with live broadcasting capabilities. The lab will enable the students to broadcast daily school updates, while learning the latest technology.
8. If a parent is unemployed, the school has resources to help them find a job.
9. To ensure that they are well-equipped to help their students, every teacher at the I Promise School is given access to free psychological services as well as career development trainings.
10. There is an intentional effort
to engage the entire family with an on-campus Family Resource Center and regular events requiring parent participation in order to create a supportive environment both in the classroom and at home.

Why a school?
LeBron comes from a poor family and he once told the media how he had to battle poverty and homelessness growing up. At some point he even missed a significant part of school in fourth grade.
This is why, the world-famous basketball player wanted to build a school for kids growing up in similar circumstances and show them better life.

Lebron James is fifth on the 2020 world's highest paid athlete list by Forbes after Tennis's Roger Federer, Football's Christiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
